There are broadly two types of email account you will encounter:
- free email services that are ad-sponsored
- fully-functional email accounts like those at work
Obviously we offer fully functional accounts, which also have the benefit of being able to access them by a webmail interface.
What you get with our hosting
- unlimited Pop3/IMAP4 email accounts, just add one when you need another, each has 400Mb of storage
- unlimited email aliases, eg. philip@ and phillip@ forward incoming email to the account at phil@ so you don’t miss out
- auto-responders saying ‘I am away skiing while you work’ (message changeable via the control panel or in webmail)
- works in Outlook, Mail, Thunberbird and all major email programs with simple setup (walk through guides to help)
- full webmail (works with mobiles too)
- email on your mobile like a blackberry, iphone or other smart phone (make sure you have an unlimited data contract!)
- spam-checking at domain level reduces your need to worry about getting lots of SPAM
What else?
To have email, you need a domain name and somewhere for the email to be stored (a hosting package/ server), which is why it is part of our unlimited web hosting.
If you need a bigger email account, then premium email accounts are available with 1Gb of space each, or you could split your email across 400Mb ones. We can also offer Microsoft Exchange if necessary.
