Web Hosting Details
Firstly a simple explanation of some common hosting terms followed by a full list of what the hosting includes.
Bandwidth - the capacity you have to send webpages to those who visit your website.
Webspace - the total space you have on the server (computer always connected to the Internet) for files. Note: this is unlimited with us so long as the files relate to your site (i.e. you can't use it to back up your computer).

All incoming email gets checked for SPAM and filtered. We check these emails to ensure you don't miss any important emails and forward them on if we find some. |
| Unlimited MySQL Databases | Pretty much everything you install requires a database, from a WordPress blog to statistics. Sending out mailings or editing your pages through a login. Most packages limit you to 1 or a maximum of 5, we don't. |
| Unlimited Mailing Lists |
You can mail out to as many people as you want from your hosting account (within the data protection act and no SPAMing of course). |

Being able to view your email through a web browser. You just type in your email address and password and there you are. It is very similar to popular services like Hotmail. |

It might seem strange, but many web applications can take quite a lot of work to set up but we offer over 35 simple installs (all the settings are automatic), from blogs to full Content Management Systems (like Joomla), shopping carts, wikis and project management software. |
| Powerful Statistics |
A website is great, but you want to know how many people are visiting it. While tools like Google Analytics can be very helpful you can't get away from needing on-server statistics. We offer two packages, Webalizer (simple to grasp) and AW Stats (industry standard, graphical output and ability to drill-down easily). |
| SSH and Unlimited FTP |
To put files onto your web server you need to use some form of transfer program (much like in My Computer). FTP allows for this and you can even restrict what people see (eg. some people can only upload to particular folders). FTP programs like Putty are easy drag-and-drop. SSH is a more advanced and robust though it does require a signed agreement to use. |
| e-Commerce Shopping Carts & Shared SSL |
If you want to sell something online you need a shopping cart system. While PayPal buttons can handle a few products, shopping carts are needed for anything bigger. We offer four of the most widely used: OS Commerce; Zen Cart; Cube Cart and Agora. Also, you don't need to buy your own security certificate (for the 'padlock') through a shared certificate. |

Have as many email addresses as you want, each with the ability to reply from them, forward to other email addresses, view in many formats, etc. See the Email Accounts page. |
| Search Engine Submission |
Although Search Engines may find your site, it is always best to submit to them directly. We have a single-click submission option which submits your site directly to 10 search engines. |

Backup and Security
We work with a company called Godsweb to ensure your site both runs well and is secure. This includes keeping your site in a special data centre with fire suppression, firewalls, backup servers, and regular backups. Further details on Godsweb here.
In addition, freshSPRING also performs nightly backups on the servers of all databases we make and seperate offline backups of all sites on a weekly basis, and back that up again and co-locate this. This equates to five levels of backup!
Just in case, we register domains with two seperate companies and could repoint your site to another hosting provider and restore your site from our backups.
