An important issue here to us at freshSPRING we actively work to ensure our sites are accessible by any and all. The web is, in a sense, a great leveler and we want to be a part of that, removing barriers.
Hence we are working to PAS-78 and W3C standards to ensure that we meet the needs of all users. To this extent we are now working with past clients to update their sites to this standard.
How we are accessible
The means by which the text is specified on this site allows a user to choose how big the text will be displayed so that those who find it hard to read small text.
Images
All images that are non-structural (eg. not tiny corners or lines that are only design-related) have ‘alt’ text – that is a description of the item will appear when you put a mouse over it and it can be read by a screen-reader.
Screen-readers
For the visually-impaired or blind this site can be read using a screen-reader. We take special care to ensure that text is not encapsulated within an image (it’s bad design anyway!) and if it is to ensure the ‘alt’ text reflects what was written.
Mobile Formatting
Not all screens are equal, and the size of a mobile screen means we’re working hard on making our extensive site as accessible as possible in a mobile format.
